Elegant salmon-coloured gold dial features grand feu champlevé enamelled indexes and has a tourbillion housed in a sapphire crystal dome built into the back of the timepiece

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG)-winning and much talked-about “most affordable” Greubel Forsey timepiece, the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision, is back this Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in a new version with a salmon dial and a platinum case.

The elegant salmon-coloured gold dial features grand feu champlevé enamelled indexes that shine in an elegant shade of blue. The white gold dial is treated with 5N physical vapour deposition (PVD)-coating.

The inclined tourbillion runs a 24-second rotation to improve accuracy and is housed in a sapphire crystal dome built into the back of the timepiece.

The dome, which sticks out from the case back, might well echo the asymmetrical designs of many Greubel Forsey classic creations, such as the GMT or the Tourbillon 24 Secondes. The dome creation, however, was designed with ergonomics and comfort of wearing in mind. When I tried the original Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision on two years ago during SIHH, I barely noticed the existence of the dome on my wrist.

While the original version, rendered in a white gold case and with a silver dial, is a perfect dress watch capturing the very essence of a Greubel Forsey creation, the platinum edition oozes character and wow-ness with its eye-catching “salmon” dial and blue index.

Even better news for the Greubel Forsey fans is that the new Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision will be followed by three other timepieces, also to be realised in platinum – presenting a rare opportunity for enthusiasts, since Greubel Forsey timepieces usually feature only one case version in platinum.
