Bulgari Hotel Shanghai


Bulgari’s new hotel adds touch of Italian luxury to Shanghai skyline

Located three minutes from the iconic Shanghai Bund, Oriental Pearl Tower and the new Shanghai Tower is the Bulgari Hotel, opens this month. Although the property is in the heart of the city, it promises a setting that is peaceful and exclusive as it is among private gardens, historic buildings, and art galleries. The hotel occupies the top eight floors of a 48-storey building. Guests will be able to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of Shanghai’s skyline. The hotel has 82 rooms and aims to provide guests with personalised services in addition to its extensive facilities. A 2000-square-metre spa, a fitness centre, a yoga studio, meeting facilities, and eight restaurants and bars guarantee guests a memorable stay.

Baselworld 2018: Bulgari’s Octo collection gets titanium update

Melco Resorts & Entertainment’s new flagship hotel in Macau, Morpheus, opens mid-June. This new addition to the City of Dreams was designed by the first woman to be awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the late Zaha Hadid. The hotel combines contemporary and futuristic elements. The hotel features Alain Ducasse’s “The World of Ducasse”, with an entire floor dedicated to two of his restaurants – one contemporary French and the other Asian-inspired – and a bar. Pierre Hermé has collaborated with the Morpheus in creating a lounge where guests can indulge in pastries. The Morpheus is also home to Yi, the only Chinese fine-dining restaurant in Asia that serves food omakase style. There is a unique in-house Spa Butler service, and a Snow Garden installation – creating a space that is truly relaxing for its guests.

Joali Maldives


Opening in September 2018, Joali will bring the “Joy of Living” to the Maldives. Each of the 73 private beach and water villa residences are inspired by individual stories and have curated in-room libraries. All areas of the resort are decorated with art and design works, and the hotel has its own art studio and gallery. Of its four restaurants, Her Kitchen offers guests a personalised culinary experience – they can learn to cook and enjoy local recipes. The hotel also has its own whisky lounge, along with a chocolate and ice-cream store making it perfect for guests of all ages.
Six Senses Bhutan

The resort, which opens late this year, offers guests one of Asia’s most untouched and majestic getaways. Six Senses will have five lodges spread across the country with 82 guest suites. Each lodge features picturesque views, such as the lodge in Punakha which overlooks the Mo Chu River, and the Gangtey lodge which looks over the Phobjikha Valley. Each lodge has its own theme. Guests are encouraged to stroll through them and experience a journey through all their senses. Although the lodges emphasise culture and tradition, the interiors are clean-cut and modern, featuring handcrafted objects and intricate weavings.
The Datai Langkawi


Following a 10-month renovation, The Datai in Langkawi is said to reopen in September 2018. The hotel is located in a 10 million-year-old rainforest and overlooks the Datai Bay, making it one of the most scenic getaways. It was awarded the title of one of the Top 10 beaches worldwide by National Geographic. All 121 rooms provide guests with breathtaking treetop views. The hotel has four restaurants including the award-winning Gulai House, which honours the culinary traditions of the region. Other than its two swimming pools, fitness centre and award-winning spa, The Datai is home to the Els Club Teluk Datai – the most scenic golf course in Southeast Asia, designed by golf star Ernie Els.
