Wyndham Clark may have lifted the 2026 US Open trophy at Shinnecock Hills on Sunday, but for golf fans, he might be better remembered as the man who spoiled the world No 1 Scottie Scheffler’s Grand Slam chase – on the latter’s birthday, nonetheless.
Fans still haven’t forgiven Clark for his locker-smashing tantrum at the Oakmont Country Club in 2025, and placing him alongside golden boy Scheffler only made the crowds more hostile. As Clark stumbled early on in the final round, hecklers shouted, “Don’t choke, Wyndham!” and “Nobody likes you,” turning the fairways into a pressure cooker.

But there’s one person who has no doubt that Clark deserves all the trophies – his girlfriend, Emily Tanner. She communicated that message to the haters pretty clearly in her most recent Instagram post with Clark, captioned, “The most deserving. You did it!”

The two went public at the 2026 Masters in Augusta, Georgia, on April 9, where Tanner appeared as the golfer’s caddie during the Par 3 Contest, wearing a white jumpsuit with his name on the back. Clark sealed the moment with a heartfelt Instagram caption calling her his “good luck charm”.
Fellow golf WAG, Brooks Koepka’s wife Jena Sims, even chimed in with a playful “Hard launch!” comment, confirming what everyone suspected: Clark was officially off the market. Since then, Tanner has frequently cheered Clark on at his tournaments.
What does Emily Tanner do?

Tanner graduated from Michigan State University in 2017, majoring in public health. Now 31 years old, she’s developed a career on social media as an influencer and moved to Los Angeles. There, she shares content about her life to 742,000 followers daily, from outfits of the day to beauty tips. Her page also features collaborations with several brands, such as her most recent Reel with the US Open outfits, wearing the golf sportswear brand Malbon.
She helps others boost their media presence, too

Tanner has her own full-service influencer marketing agency, Over Social Agency. For more than nine years, she’s carved out a space for herself in the digital sphere, teaming up with heavyweights like Celcius, Revolve and Manscaped. Her work with the agency draws on her experience with content creation and brand partnerships. Per its website, the agency is “trusted by” brands including L’Occitane, Hyundai, Peacock, Bumble and others.
