Lee Pace is no stranger to fantasy. The 47-year-old actor is known for playing Thranduil the Elvenking in The Hobbit trilogy, Ronan the Accuser in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Brother Day in Foundation and vampire Garrett in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
Most recently, he joins Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic 2, and the internet has fallen under his spell.

The newly released sequel to the 1998 film, which also stars Joey King and Maisie Williams, secured a US$30 million opening at the box office, taking over the top spot held by Spider-Man: Brand New Day for six weeks. Pace plays Ian Wright, a professor of magic history who gets involved with Bullock’s Sally Owens.
Although Pace has found himself in hot water for suggesting during a recent Today show interview that a woman’s “magic power” was cooking, his heartthrob status remains unchanged.

What is Lee Pace’s background?

According to his IMDb, Lee Grinner Pace was born on March 25, 1979, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to engineer James Roy Pace and teacher Charlotte Kloeckler. He grew up in a suburb near Houston, Texas, per Highsnobiety, but he also spent part of his childhood in Louisiana and Saudi Arabia because of his father’s work, per the Associated Press.
Pace moved to New York at 17 and was accepted into the Juilliard School. “I definitely feel the Texan me,” he told Highsnobiety before adding, “I’m not really from anywhere.” He has a brother named Will and a younger sister, with whom the actor said he is “very close”, in his interview with lifestyle and culture magazine Mr Feelgood.
How did Lee Pace get into acting?

Pace caught the acting bug after he had to give up swimming due to painful earaches that required surgery, he told French magazine Crash. At his mother’s suggestion, he took a drama class around age 12 or 13 and became a “nerdy theatre kid,” Pace described his younger self in a recent interview with Flaunt magazine.
He worked for Alley Theatre in Houston and later auditioned for Juilliard, where he eventually earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts in performing arts.
Pace has since been nominated for a Golden Globe for best supporting actor for his performance in Soldier’s Girl. He also received an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for his role in Pushing Daisies.
He debuted on Broadway in 2011 with The Normal Heart.
Is Lee Pace single?

Pace is married to Thom Browne executive Matthew Foley. According to Foley’s LinkedIn, his most recent position with the brand was global vice-president of marketing and communications. The couple was introduced by a mutual friend, per GQ Hype, and Pace described their marriage as “an endless sleepover with your weirdest friend”. They live in a 200-year-old upstate New York farmhouse, per Just Jared.
