Reacher star Alan Ritchson, who plays the hit Amazon Prime Video show’s titular character Jack Reacher, recently announced his split from his wife Catherine.
The former couple, who were married for 20 years, announced the news in a joint Instagram post. “After 20 years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way,” the statement read. “We grew up together. We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.”

They added: “The best gift we can give one another – and our boys – right now is friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be.”

What does Catherine Ritchson do?

Born in March 1989, Catherine Ritchson is a writer and producer who worked on the 2017 short film Tree House Time Machine, written and directed by her husband. The film also stars Emily Alyn Lind, the lead actress in We Were Liars.
According to IMDb, Catherine is also the writer and producer of the comedy project Employee 665, although there is little information about it as it is still in development.
How did Alan and Catherine Ritchson meet?

Catherine first met Ritchson during their secondary school years when they were both doing ballet.
“I thought she was a college student, so I was afraid to talk to her,” the actor told The Hollywood Reporter in a 2024 interview. “I figured there was no point because she’s going to be older than me, but I found out she was doing the exact same thing that I was. We finally spoke and then did a play together that summer,” the Runner star said.
During an appearance on Today, Ritchson told hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that Catherine would bring him cookies before his stage performances. “Of course I fell in love,” he said.
They share 3 sons

Ritchson and Catherine tied the knot in 2006 and have three sons – Calem, Edan and Amory. Catherine has supported her husband throughout his career, serving as his plus-one at several red carpet events.
In 2023, Catherine penned a sweet Instagram post celebrating their 17-year wedding anniversary: “Something I’ve learned over our 17 years of marriage: Real love is not found in star charts, flirtation, or charming manipulation. In fact, real love isn’t found at all.”
“As the days, months, and years pass you look around and realize you’ve built a kingdom. Some parts will lay unfinished; others may have been knocked down and need to be rebuilt. But the important part is that you both keep building by tenderly place each brick with dedication and honor in your heart for one another,” she continued.
While the announcement of their split is recent, Page Six reported that Ritchson quietly filed for divorce in December last year. Court documents uncovered by TMZ revealed that the pair had reconciled in March before eventually calling it quits in September.
