Fans of Oscar-nominated writer Taylor Sheridan, creator of hit series including Yellowstone and Lioness – which launched its third season on Paramount+ last month – are accustomed to seeing recurring actors across his screen universe.
Joining an A-list ensemble led by Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman, Ian Bohen boards Lioness for Season 3 as US Army Delta Force operative Grady. The drama draws on a real-life military unit of undercover female agents fighting terrorist organisations.

The 49-year-old actor began working with Sheridan long before the showrunner became famous for his Western dramas. So who exactly is the “Sheridanverse” star, Ian Bohen?
What is Ian Bohen’s background?

Ian Bohen, who plays ranch hand Ryan in Yellowstone, was born in September 1976 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
As a child, Bohen spent his summers at his grandfather’s ranch, where he learned skills that would come in handy for his Yellowstone role, including horse riding, he told Wide Open Country, an online media outlet covering country music, lifestyle, and entertainment, in 2022.
Bohen began acting in 1992 in the sitcom The Torkelsons. He has since amassed over 56 screen credits, starring in projects such as Teen Wolf (both the television series and the film), The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Superman & Lois (2022).
When did Ian Bohen join the ‘Sheridanverse’?

Bohen first crossed paths with Sheridan when he was cast in the director’s 2011 horror film Vile.
In 2018, Bohen returned to the Sheridanverse as Ryan in Yellowstone. The actor told People that well before Season 3, he had expressed interest to Sheridan about joining Lioness, but was unable to do so due to filming commitments on Yellowstone.
Thankfully, the opportunity came up when Bohen wrapped filming Yellowstone’s finale and received a call from Sheridan.
“I got a phone call saying, ‘Would you like to come?’ I think the [exact] words were, ‘Would you like to come play with us?’ And of course, those are the magic words,” Bohen recalled in his interview with People. “Yellowstone concluded gloriously, and then I had the opportunity to come and be with these guys. Yeah, it’s great timing.”
Who is Ian Bohen dating?

Bohen appears to be single at the moment. In the past, he was rumoured to be dating his Yellowstone co-star and on-screen love interest, Lainey Wilson – who married former NFL quarterback Devlin Hodges this May.
