Ella Langley is one of the biggest country music stars of the year. The 27-year-old has spent 21 weeks and counting atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her smash hit “Choosin’ Texas” from her second studio album Dandelion. It is the first-ever non-Christmas track to achieve this feat.


Langley also conquered the UK’s Official Singles Chart for the first time with the same song, beating the UK’s longest-running No 1 single, “Rein Me In” by Sam Fender and Olivia Dean, which spent 23 weeks at the top, though not consecutively.
Despite her meteoric rise to fame, Langley has remained close to her roots. So, who are her parents, Jason and Heather Langley?
Ella Langley is the second eldest of 4 children

Jason and Heather Langley tied the knot on April 18, 1998, and share four children, of whom Ella is the second oldest, according to People magazine. The singer’s older brother is Thomas, 35, and her younger brother is Stuart, 25. The youngest Langley is Katie, who is 19. According to Taste of Country, a country music news platform, Jason Langley is a businessman.

The siblings grew up on a farm in Hope Hull, Alabama, and the coordinates of their childhood home are tattooed on Ella’s arm. She also has a bumblebee tattoo in honour of her mother, who calls her “Ella Bee”. Langley now owns a house in Montgomery, close to her parents’ place.

On the This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von podcast this May, Ella described her parents’ marriage as a “wild ride”, adding that they “stuck it out” despite having ups and downs in their relationship.
Heather, who hails from Michigan, has never shied away from celebrating her marriage, often posting about relationship milestones on her Instagram. However, her account was private at the time of writing.

The Langleys introduced their eldest daughter to music, per the Montgomery Advertiser. “If we were riding down the road, music was playing. So in my dad’s truck I heard a lot of big rock bands, old-school country and even disco,” she recalled, adding that her mother “played everything from Peter, Paul & Mary to 80s new wave to Pearl Jam”.
Jason’s parents further nurtured their granddaughter’s musical talent. Both of them were singers, and Ella gushed on the God’s Country podcast that her grandfather could “play every instrument by ear”. She grew up singing with them, and later inherited her late grandfather’s guitar.
When Langley wanted to drop out of Auburn University without completing her forestry degree, her parents supported her. Her mother, in particular, referred to her move to Nashville as her “schooling”, Ella told the Katie & Company podcast in 2024.
