Fernando Lindez has emerged as the internet’s next heartthrob with the premiere of The Last Sunrise on Amazon Prime Video on August 26. The romantic drama is an adaptation of the eponymous book by Anna Todd, author of the After series, first adapted to screen in 2019.

The Last Sunrise follows Oriah “Ry” Pera – an American girl played by Maia Reficco – who lives with a chronic illness and spends her summer in Mallorca, where she meets the attractive male lead, Julian (Lindez), and embarks on an unexpected romance full of twists and turns.
So, who is the 26-year-old Spanish actor stealing hearts with his debut English-language film role? Read on to find out.
What is Fernando Lindez’s background?

Fernando Lindez was born on March 16, 2000, in Andalusia, Spain. He was raised in Madrid, where his mother worked as a police inspector.
In an interview with Metal Magazine, Lindez described himself as a shy, calm and introspective person. Growing up, he was also quite sporty, trying his hand at golf, waterskiing and kickboxing.
The actor currently lives in Cortes, Madrid, where he moved into his own flat in 2025.
How did Fernando Lindez get into acting?

Lindez’s career in the entertainment industry began with modelling. He told VMan magazine that he was discovered by an agent on Instagram at around age 16. He didn’t have an account himself, but one of his close friends posted a photo of them, and the agent noticed it and later got Lindez’s number through that friend.
Despite his good looks, modelling was not easy for the reserved teenager at first. “I was very shy; nobody managed to get me to take a photograph clearly. I always hid myself, even refused to pose,” he told Behind the Blinds magazine. “Imagine the change to having to be constantly in front of a camera. At first it was very difficult for me.”
Lindez walked his first runway show at 18 at Milan Fashion Week, where he met Donatella Versace for the first time. The young model was told that he was going to open the show just one day before. “I didn’t know what I was doing. I didn’t know who Donatella Versace was. I didn’t know nothing,” Lindez recalled on the Zach Sang Show. “[A]fter that everything, you know, started to be like crazy and travelling a lot.”

Though he has enjoyed being a model, Lindez has aspired to be an actor since he was young. His father recommended films and directors, and that’s where his dreams began. “It’s a field where you can express yourself in a more artistic way, where you can show that there’s something more behind it, that you’re not just a pretty face. I’m on that path,” he told Metal Magazine.
The opportunity to realise his childhood dream dropped into Lindez’s lap when he received a casting call for the Spanish adaptation of the teen drama series, Skam España. The actor told GQ that, since it was his first time auditioning, he didn’t have high expectations. He landed the role, working alongside Spanish-American actress Nicole Wallace, who also stars in Amazon Prime Video’s My Fault.
Lindez has since worked on several projects, including the Netflix series Elite, the Spanish series Scandal and the Spanish film Tell Me Softly, which was released on Amazon Prime Video last December.
Who is Fernando Lindez dating?

Lindez has been in a relationship with Spanish model and actress Ainhoa Larretxi since early 2025. He contacted her while they were both working in Milan, and it was love at first sight. “Immediately, since that day, we had this super connection where we felt like we were in love,” Lindez told Brad Martin in a TikTok video. “The second day I met her, I told her that I love her. Because I felt it, so I told her, you know?”
Larretxi was scouted at 14 and landed her first magazine cover at 16. She has worked for various brands, including Calzedonia, Calvin Klein and Carolina Herrera. She frequently attends major fashion events like Milan and New York Fashion Weeks. Besides modelling, she is also athletic and skilled in surfing, snowboarding, climbing and skating.

She made her acting debut this year in the television series Marbella, where she appears in three episodes. She also has a role in the Spanish spy thriller Zeta, released this March.
Lindez and Larretxi seem to be quite the happy couple, often documenting their lives together on social media. Lindez is ever the supportive boyfriend and frequently shows his admiration for his girlfriend in the comment section under her posts.
