Singer-songwriter Stella Lefty’s country-pop single “Boston”, which went viral on TikTok before its official release in March, peaked at No 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, sitting just below Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas”.
On Monday, the 24-year-old announced her first tour days after she released her debut album Long Way Home. The tour will kick off on January 9 in Detroit, and span 18 cities including a fitting stop in Boston on January 17.
The album features 14 songs totalling 38 minutes, including her pre-release single “Something to Lose”, a stand-alone track Lefty recorded in collaboration with her boyfriend, Vincent Mason.

So, who exactly is the 25-year-old artist featured on Lefty’s debut album, and how did the pair meet?
What is Vincent Mason’s background?

Born in Roswell, Georgia, Mason wrote his first song after enrolling at the University of Mississippi. He soon transferred to Lipscomb University in Nashville – the “Music City” his mother insisted he move to for his musical aspirations, as he told Atwood Magazine last year.
The budding country musician ultimately dropped out of school altogether. But the risk paid off: Mason is now preparing for his second headlining tour, “There I Go”, which launches September 3 and spans 17 cities across the US.
His song went viral on TikTok

In 2024, Mason’s single “Hell is a Dancefloor” gained momentum on TikTok three months after its release, paving the way for his signing with Interscope Records/Music Soup and a partnership with Music Corporation of America.
The country singer released his debut album, There I Go, last November, featuring 14 tracks heavily inspired by John Mayer – who, Mason told The Hollywood Reporter, was “the reason I started making songs”. The album brings an emphasised intimacy to the modern music landscape, with its single “Damned if I Do” reaching No 94 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May.
After playing major festivals like Stagecoach, Rock the South, and Calf Fry this year, Mason also joined Lefty during her Lollapalooza set to perform their duet.
How did Stella Lefty and Vincent Mason meet?

The musical couple’s love story started in a very modern way: Mason dropped Lefty a line on Instagram about his thoughts on her single “Thinking About You”, Lefty shared on The BobbyCast interview podcast last month. “I don’t think he was looking for love,” Stella said. The romance sparked nonetheless, and the couple has been together for about six months now.
