Britney Spears’ youngest son, 19-year-old Jayden James, has just been announced as the new face of MAC Cosmetics.
Spears’ complex personal life has been extensively covered by the media, so it’s no secret that she did not have the best relationship with her ex-husband Kevin Federline and their children.

This year, Jayden seems to be spending more time with his pop star mother. In a video Spears shared on Instagram in March, she took mirror selfies and did outfit checks with her son at her house. “[S]pending time with family and friends is such a blessing!!!” Spears captioned the post. Jayden was also joined by his older brother, Sean Preston, on a yacht day with their mother.
Jayden is slowly making a name for himself, with plans to further his modelling and musical careers. Here’s everything you need to know about Jayden James.
How was his relationship with Spears growing up?

Spears and Federline met in 2004, when he was a backup dancer for her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. After dating for just three months, the couple got married in 2004 and welcomed their firstborn, Sean Preston, on September 14, 2005. Their second child, Jayden James, was born on September 12, 2006. Spears filed for divorce that same year, citing irreconcilable differences.
According to Us Weekly, Spears and Federline had agreed to share equal custody in 2007 after their divorce was finalised. However, in January 2008, the dancer was given sole custody after Spears went through a “mental breakdown” and was put on a 5150 – an involuntary 72-hour psychiatric hold. The pop star was later allowed to see her kids a few times a week. The exes would go on to co-parent the boys.
Jayden and Sean moved to Hawaii in 2023 with their father and his wife, Victoria Prince.
How did Jayden James get into modelling?

Jayden and Sean made their runway debuts this June at Paris Fashion Week Men’s, walking for Vetements’ spring/summer 2027 show.
After the experience, Jayden expressed his interest in modelling again. “I feel like I could do better, since this was my first fashion show and everything,” he said in an interview with Vogue in July. “I could master my walk better – I was definitely stiff because I was nervous.”
While Spears did not attend the show, she still found a way to support her sons. “Oh my god, she was so nervous for us. She was just looking out for us and making sure that this was what we wanted to do,” Jayden told Vogue. “[S]he sent us flowers to our hotel as a good luck thing, and called and texted us so many times. It was good to have that and to carry that with us before we went out there.”
The “Princess of Pop” had confidence in her sons, with Jayden saying, “I feel like she knew we had it. She was like, ‘Yeah, you guys are my sons. You’ve got this.’”
He also wants to make music

Jayden is a self-taught musician, and one of the first songs he taught himself to play was Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
On an Instagram Live session, Jayden shared that he considers his mother’s hit “Toxic” one of her best songs. He and Sean both seem to want to follow in their mother’s footsteps. Sean told Vogue, “Music is the foundation of everything for me. Jayden and I have done music our whole lives, and we definitely gravitate towards that more than anything else.”
According to Maczine, a magazine by MAC Cosmetics, Jayden is working on introducing his music to the world, but only when he is ready.
Who is Jayden James dating?

Jayden is dating Gabrielle Helene. It is unclear when exactly they got together, but their relationship became Instagram-official in 2023. The couple made their red carpet debut this May at a Dior show.
Jayden told Maczine about his skincare routine, saying, “My girlfriend does my whole routine for me, so if you wanna ask her about that, I think she’s the better person.”
Their relationship seems to be going strong, with Helene joining her boyfriend in Paris in June, where they spent quality time around the French capital.
