As the cast of Outer Banks bids farewell to the show, all eyes are on Madelyn Cline, who shot to fame after the series began in 2020. She recently appeared in the music video for Sabrina Carpenter’s “House Tour”, and is set to star in the film Day Drinker alongside Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz.
With fame, of course, comes intense scrutiny of Cline’s love life. The actress has been the subject of some relationship speculation over the past few years, being linked to the likes of Outer Banks co-star Chase Stokes and comedian Pete Davidson.
So, who has the 28-year-old star been romantically involved with? Here’s what we know about Cline’s dating history.
Chase Stokes

Cline and Chase Stokes sparked dating rumours after fans noticed his flirtatious comments under the actress’ Instagram while they were quarantining in the same house with the Outer Banks cast. In June 2020, the couple confirmed their relationship in a since-deleted Instagram post.
The pair celebrated their one-year anniversary in April 2021, but by November that year, People confirmed that they had broken up. Their characters were love interests in the Netflix series, meaning they had to navigate their real-life break-up in the seasons that followed. “There were moments when it was difficult, absolutely,” Cline told The Hollywood Reporter last week. “But once the dust kind of settled, we were able to just revert to the friendship that we always had. At some point, you look at each other and you’re like, ‘Are you ready to stop being miserable? Because I’m ready.’”
“[W]e made a promise to each other before we even started dating that the work was always going to come first,” Stokes also said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2023. Following his split from Cline, Stokes has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with singer Kelsea Ballerini, whom he broke up with in February this year.
Jackson Guthy

In June 2022, Cline was seen spending time with singer Jackson Guthy. She kept the relationship low profile, only confirming she was dating someone in a December 2022 interview with The Cut, in which she noted that she was living with her boyfriend and their dogs.
Speaking with Cosmopolitan in February 2023, Cline briefly spoke about her relationship. “I am happily taken. All I know is he makes me incredibly happy. And I’ve truly never been happier, and I feel very, very empowered.”
The relationship was kept largely private, with the pair only occasionally posting on social media. By July 2023, Cline and Guthy appeared to have split when the actress unfollowed him on Instagram, though the couple never explicitly confirmed their break-up.
Pete Davidson

Pete Davidson has dated his fair share of high-profile ladies, from Ariana Grande to Kim Kardashian, and in September 2023, he was linked to Cline, per Us Weekly.
Cline told Nylon magazine in a 2024 interview that she and Davidson had called it quits earlier that year, but gave no further elaboration. When asked what it was like to be with someone whose dating life is so obsessed over on the internet, she simply said, “The jokes write themselves.”
Henry Smith

Reports of influencer Henry Smith dating Cline emerged this April, after the pair were spotted together watching a show in San Diego.
Later that month, Cline made several appearances on Smith’s TikTok page, with one video of the pair dancing to Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life” and another of them giggling as they prepared a yogurt “sweet treat”. Cline also spent Easter with Smith’s family.
TMZ reported that after a brief relationship, Cline and Smith had split by late June and unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Cline was spotted on a dinner date with luxury property agent Michael Reyes this month. The pair appeared affectionate, holding hands and kissing across the table.
While neither Cline nor Reyes has explicitly confirmed their relationship status, they seem to be enjoying the summer in each other’s company and are keeping things private.
Other rumoured boyfriends

Over the years, Cline has been rumoured to be involved with several other men, including actor Ross Butler, record producer Zack Bia, and Prince Constantine Alexios of Greece and Denmark.
Butler was seen dancing with Cline at a restaurant in Milan in 2021, but the actor quickly shut down the rumours, telling TMZ that she was “just a friend”.
Bia was spotted having dinner with Cline in late 2021, sparking romance rumours, but the producer told the BFFs podcast that they simply enjoyed spending time together and were not officially dating owing to their busy schedules.
In September 2025, Cline was seen spending time with Constantine Alexios in New York, where they appeared to display public affection. However, the pair have not been seen together since.
