The actress just announced as Rogue in Marvel’s X-Men reboot was recently spotted on an LA date with the indie musician

Last Sunday, just two days after Inde Navarrette’s X-Men casting news broke, the Obsession star was spotted in Los Angeles, leaving the historic Chateau Marmont hotel with rumoured boyfriend Nick Aiello. The two looked cosy, holding hands during an evening outing that appeared to be a date. Online, the couple’s height difference quickly became a topic of discussion, with one commenter under a Just Jared Instagram post about the date saying: “Always a short queen and tall king.”

So, who is Nick Aiello, the man who joined Navarrette out on a romantic evening?

Born in San Diego and currently based in New York, Aiello is a 26-year-old singer-songwriter who “uses music as a way of emotional processing, with a strong focus on storytelling”, per his Spotify artist profile. His debut EP ILO was released this February, featuring five songs that blend indie, pop and folk. Aiello has played at several concerts, including a live performance with his close friend, actor and musician Joshua Bassett, who was a special guest at Aiello’s Solana Beach concert in May.

Although the exact timeline of the couple’s relationship is unclear, as they prefer to keep things low-key, Navarrette and Aiello first captured fans’ attention when they posted matching videos from a motorbike ride in Thailand. The couple fuelled further speculation when they featured each other in their Instagram photo collections from Coachella a few weeks later. In May, the sweethearts were spotted together grabbing some late-night tacos on the pavement in Los Angeles, where Navarrette even gave fans some autographs, following the runaway success of her horror film Obsession.

Navarrette and Aiello have also shown affection for each other online, frequently leaving romantic emojis and goofy comments under each other’s Instagram posts, such as Nick’s waggish “Do you vear vigs?” note under Navarrette’s recent post where the actress tries on a colourful pink bob.

A graduate of San Diego Cathedral Catholic High School, Aiello completed his studies at the prestigious University of Michigan in 2025, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in musical theatre. In 2024, he demonstrated his acting skills as Sheriff Hampton in the musical Bat Boy, staged by The Encore Musical Theatre Company in Dexter, Michigan.
