The 2026 Fifa World Cup likely marked the final international tournament of Cristiano Ronaldo’s illustrious career. The 41-year-old footballer, widely considered one of the greatest athletes of all time, is rumoured to be calling time on his long tenure with his national team. But it seems that his son, Cristiano Jr, is destined to follow in his footsteps.
The Portuguese superstar, reportedly set to tie the knot with his long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez in his home country soon, just shared a snap of him and his mini-me son flexing their abs while enjoying a family beach day.

Sixteen-year-old Cristiano Jr is the eldest of Ronaldo’s five children and seems well on his way to becoming a professional footballer too. It was reported that Cristiano Jr briefly trained with the youth setup of Real Madrid, Ronaldo’s former club in Spain. He is currently playing for Ronaldo’s Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr’s youth team.

The identity of Cristiano Ronaldo Jr’s mum is a mystery

Cristiano Jr – full name Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Júnior – was born on June 17, 2010, and is the football star’s first child. And while we know that Cristiano is his father, his biological mother’s identity has never been revealed, per People magazine.
Ronaldo Sr told Jonathan Ross in 2015, “Some points in life are private and people have to respect the privacy. When Cristiano is going to grow up, I am always going to say the truth to him because he deserves it, because he is my son. But I am not going to say [it just] because people want me to say.”
In a statement, Ronaldo tweeted at the time of the birth, “It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy. As agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship. I request everyone to fully respect my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are.”
He plays football just like his dad

Ronaldo Jr is quickly taking after his father, especially in football. According to Goal, the youngster joined Saudi Arabian professional club Al-Nassr’s under-13 team in 2023, and hopes to one day play alongside his dad.
According to the same source, Ronaldo said in 2019 of his son’s wish: “Sometimes, my son tells me: ‘Dad, hold on for a few more years, I want to play with you.’ But that will be difficult.”
Ronaldo Jr even starred in one of his dad’s Nike shoe ads posted to Instagram in 2017.
He’s part of a big family

Ronaldo’s family has continued to expand since he met Georgina Rodriguez, who is now his fiancée. In June 2017, Ronaldo and Rodriguez welcomed twins Eva and Mateo, now six, via a surrogate. Then Rodriguez gave birth to Alana Martina in November that same year. In October 2021, Ronaldo said they were expecting twins again.
Tragically, in April 2022, it was announced that one of their twins had died. “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” the couple wrote. “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”

Like his dad, Ronaldo Jr has also been known to sport luxury watches with eye-watering prices. As previously reported, in 2020 the then-10-year-old rocked a flashy diamond Rolex GMT Master II “Ice” while accompanying his dad to receive “the player of the century” accolade at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards. Celeb Watch Spotter estimated its price to be over US$550,000.
