Who are Christopher Nolan’s brothers – screenwriter Jonathan, and Matthew, who was accused of murder?

The Odyssey director’s younger brother, Jonathan, has frequently collaborated with him on films like Interstellar and The Prestige – but Matthew has a darker past

Jonathan Nolan

Born in June 1976, in the United Kingdom, Jonathan is the youngest of Brendan Nolan and Christina Lynn’s three sons.
Raised by his British father and American mother, Jonathan spent his formative years between London and Chicago. Unlike his older brother Christopher, who attended University College London to study English Literature, Jonathan chose to pursue his degree in English at Georgetown University in the US. As a result, Jonathan – who also goes by Jonah – has an American accent rather than a British one.
Despite their different educational backgrounds, the two brothers have shared a close relationship since their teenage years, and Jonathan took an interest in screenwriting as Christopher began making films.
