The 2026 Fifa World Cup is well under way, with the remaining teams vying for a spot in the quarter finals. One of the favourites to win the cup this year is Spain, who is set to face off Portugal in the round of 16 on July 6.

Lamine Yamal, one of the youngest players at the tournament at just 18 years old, is a rising football superstar and a stand-out on Team Spain. In the stands supporting his World Cup debut is his new girlfriend, Inés García Santos. So, who is the Spanish influencer who has recently been linked to Yamal? Here’s what we know.
What does Lamine Yamal’s girlfriend Inés García do?

Born in 2005, 20-year-old García is a beauty and fashion influencer based in Spain. She has over 749,000 followers on Instagram, and 1.1 million followers on TikTok, at the time of writing.
She posts her outfits, fashion and beauty tips on her social media accounts. Recently, content of her supporting Yamal at his matches has surfaced, too.
How did Lamine Yamal and Inés García meet?

Fans were speculating on how the couple met – especially since Yamal got out of his last relationship with musician Nicki Nicole only last November, and García was previously thought to be dating a man named Gonzalo Torres. Some have claimed that the pair met at a store when García’s card was declined upon buying snacks, when Yamal then swooped in to save her.
In reality though, the way they met is far simpler. García took to social media to finally debunk the rumours surrounding the couple’s relationship: they connected on social media.

Though García didn’t share when exactly the pair first started dating, she did say, “People started seeing us together when we went to Greece,” referring to when she and Yamal were spotted holding hands in Greece in April. “I’ve known Lamine for a lot longer than that. Not quite three years, but a good deal more months than people realise, even now.”
García has also reportedly shut down allegations that she cheated on her last boyfriend for Yamal. According to one of her Instagram Stories, that has since been summarised across social media, she and Torres are only friends.
The couple made their public debut in May at a celebration dinner that FC Barcelona held for their La Liga title.
She is facing her fear of flying to support Yamal at the World Cup

In an interview in May with Woman Madame Figaro, García mentioned that although she loves travelling, she has a fear of flying. “The two things don’t really go together, but I’m facing my fears little by little,” she said in Spanish.
Since then, García has been at every stop for Yamal’s games for the tournament. From Atlanta to Los Angeles, García has been at the sidelines, proudly cheering her boyfriend on. In her Instagram captions, García has consistently shown him her support. “Let’s go Spain, let’s go my love,” she wrote in Spanish in one post.
Yamal seems grateful for the love she’s shown him. “[I dedicate the goal] to my mother, my girlfriend, to my friends and everyone back at home in Mataró,” said Yamal after scoring his first ever World Cup goal, according to ESPN.
