American rapper Jelly Roll reportedly filed for divorce from his wife, Bunnie Xo, on May 18, after being married for nearly a decade. The couple met backstage at one of his shows at the Las Vegas Country Saloon in 2015 and married a year later.
The news of their split comes after the couple packed on the PDA when they arrived at the red carpet for the 2026 Grammy Awards in February together.

After winning best contemporary country album, Jelly Roll gave a heartfelt thank you to his wife, saying, “I want to thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail. I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus. I thank you for that.”
The two had previously navigated ups and downs in their relationship, with the country singer admitting to an affair early on in their marriage.
According to reports obtained by People, the couple cited irreconcilable differences as grounds for their divorce. The couple reportedly had a rocky marriage and had split multiple times throughout their relationship before heading for a divorce this year.

What does Bunnie Xo do?

Bunnie Xo, real name Alisa DeFord, launched her podcast Dumb Blonde in 2019. Her YouTube channel has more than 900,000 followers at the time of writing and she has featured guests such as Brantley Gilbert, Priscilla Block – Travis Barker’s ex – Shanna Moakler and Jelly Roll on her podcast.
Bunnie is also a singer and has released tracks including “Come Here Cowboy”, “Shimmy Down My Chimney” and “Mista Grinch”. The internet personality has amassed almost two million followers on Instagram and more than seven million for her TikTok posts.
This February, she published her first book, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, a memoir detailing her upbringing from living at trailer parks in Vegas to starting her own podcast.
How did Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo start dating?

During an appearance on The Golden Hour podcast, Jelly Roll revealed that he’d first met Bunnie Xo when she was attending one of his concerts. She was in a relationship at the time.
But the pair kept in touch and when Bunnie found herself single shortly after, she offered to let the rapper crash at her place while he was filming a music video in Las Vegas. “When I hugged her, I could just feel the genuineness of her. I could tell it wasn’t an act,” he said about his wife on the podcast.
She shared her experience with IVF

After a year of dating, the couple tied the knot in an impromptu wedding in 2016. Jelly Roll proposed to Bunnie while onstage at a Yelawolf and Deftones concert in Las Vegas, and the couple eloped the same night to a courthouse, per The Golden Hour.
In an episode of her own podcast, Bunnie opened up about the couple’s IVF treatment, comparing the process to a “slot machine in Vegas”. “Honestly, when I was going through this, I realised how lonely of a journey IVF is. It’s very lonely. And granted, you have people surrounding you, and like, you know, hopefully if you’re going through it, you have, you know, friends, family who love you and know you’re going through it,” Bunnie, 46, told fans.

“But at the same time, it’s just you and these hormones and the waiting and the egg retrieval. And like, you’re the only person who can go through that, you know? So it’s a lot to bear.”
Jelly Roll has two children from previous relationships, daughter Bailee and son Noah. In a 2020 Facebook post, Jelly Roll praised his wife for being a great stepmum to his daughter, writing: “It takes a special kind of woman to raise a kid that isn’t her child and still treat the child as if she was … You are the epitome of a good mum and deserve more credit than anyone because you didn’t have to step up to the plate the way you did.”
