You can always trust Hacks co-stars Paul W. Downs and Megan Stalter to turn a red carpet appearance into a viral moment. The duo, who play Hollywood agent Jimmy LuSaque and his nepo-baby assistant Kayla Schaeffer, are beloved by fans of the Emmy-winning HBO show for their comedic chemistry.
At the American Music Awards on May 25, just days before the Hacks’ finale aired, Stalter and Downs arrived on the red carpet wearing looks that raised eyebrows. Stalter took naked dressing to the next level, wearing only a long black wig that covered her otherwise bare chest. She paired the look with low-rise jeans. Downs accompanied her wearing a fitted black tee, light-wash jeans and sunglasses.

Keeping the bit going, Downs even took out a bedazzled hairbrush and combed Stalter’s hair top as the pair prepared to pose on the red carpet. The two wore belt buckles of each other’s faces, and when asked by Variety if they were cosplaying any specific Hollywood couples, Stalter replied, “These are our everyday looks – who are we cosplaying as? Two hot models?”
While Hacks may have come to an end – the finale for its fifth and final season aired on May 28 – here’s a look back at some of Stalter and Downs’ best red carpet looks.
Recreating Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet in Chrome Hearts

Megan Stalter and Paul W. Downs first made headlines at the Critics Choice Awards in January in matching orange outfits that looked identical to Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet’s viral Chrome Hearts couple look at the Los Angeles premiere of Marty Supreme last December.

From Stalter’s hair, make-up and accessories to Downs’ table-tennis bag, the Hacks stars spared no detail in recreating the look.
Dressing down … and up, up, up!

At the LA premiere of the Hacks’ fifth season, by contrast, the pair kept it casual. Stalter wore a leather biker jacket paired with denim shorts, and Downs – who co-created and is a co-showrunner on Hacks – arrived in a Dior spring 2026 grey wool flannel double-breasted suit.

Stalter, who this month made her music debut with the release of “Prettiest Girl in America”, has always made the red carpet her playground even without Downs by her side. She wore a white, off-the-shoulder corset gown with a hoop-style skirt to the 2025 VMAs, accessorising with a bedazzled Dunkin’ coffee cup.

At the 2025 Emmys, Stalter took her experimental outfits to the next level when she broke the event’s formal dress code, arriving in a super-casual white T-shirt and jeans. The outfit’s stand-out piece was Stalter’s black bag, which had a big piece of white tape stuck to it that read “Cease fire!” – a reference to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

At the Actor Awards in March, Stalter hit the red carpet in a slinky leopard-print dress with a black stole wrapped around her arms. Staying true to her old Hollywood aesthetic for the night, she posed with a cheeky cigarette (unlit).
