Shawn Wayne Hatosy was born in December 1975 in Maryland, US, and is of Hungarian-Irish descent.

During sixth grade in middle school, Hatosy got to perform on stage – and realised how much he enjoyed performing. He went on to participate in more school plays and even starred in commercials before landing his breakout role in the 1997 comedy film In & Out.

The 50-year-old actor has since earned over 70 acting credits, including roles in TV shows such as the TNT crime drama series Southland, Chicago P.D., Law & Order and Fear the Walking Dead.
