The young British actress only had one prior acting experience before she made her feature film debut alongside Adolescence’s Owen Cooper, who plays a young Heathcliff (with the older Heathcliff being played by Jacob Elordi) in the film. She appeared in the West End stage musical Matilda before landing her role as young Cathy, per Variety.
She was encouraged to audition for Wuthering Heights by her acting coach

Mellington attended Rob Kelly screen acting classes by Rob Kelly’s House of Talents, which has trained actors like Bridgerton’s Florence Hunt and Arabella Stanton, who takes on the role of Hermione Granger in HBO’s upcoming series adaptation of Harry Potter.
In her interview with Variety, Mellington said she was encouraged by Kelly to audition for the role of young Catherine in Wuthering Heights. Mellington, who initially struggled to get an audition, eventually landed the role after sending through self-tapes and headshots.
What’s next for Charlotte Mellington?

While her debut acting project made her a breakout star, Mellington’s upcoming plans have mostly to do with her passing her upcoming exams, as per her interview with Teen Vogue.
