He played basketball, aspired to reach the UFC and was a stuntman once – but what did he say about his special chemistry with co-star Connor Storrie?

If your holiday season watch list has a very specific enemies-to-lovers-shaped hole, you’re in luck. Heated Rivalry is the internet’s latest obsession. The LGBTQ show, based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers book series, pits two rising ice hockey stars, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, against each other on the ice – while they navigate much more complicated feelings off it.

“We’re trying to put something full of love out into the world,” the show’s creator Jacob Tierney said, per The Canadian Press. “Its very existence is an act of political resistance, but beyond that, it’s just a love story.”

Hudson Williams was born to a Korean mother and a British-Dutch-Canadian father in February 2001. He played basketball growing up and aspired to fight in the UFC, according to an interview he gave to The Permanent Rain Press. He graduated with a degree in film arts from Langara College in Vancouver.

In the interview, the 24-year-old shared that representing his Asian-Canadian heritage on Heated Rivalry “meant a lot” to him and his mother. “She always thought it would be harder for me to break into film and acting because she hadn’t really seen [any leading actors of Asian descent],” he said.
