Meet Tala Alamuddin, Amal Clooney’s lookalike designer sister – who created the dress Amal wore to Harry and Meghan’s wedding

Tala Alamuddin doesn’t just resemble Amal Clooney – the British-Lebanese designer is also incredibly close to her lawyer and human rights activist older sister.

The two sisters have been each other’s biggest cheerleaders over the years, with Alamuddin taking on the duties of a maid of honour during her 2014 nuptials to George Clooney (the couple elected not to have a traditional one or a best man). Alamuddin’s daughter, Mia, was Amal’s only flower girl at the wedding.

In return, when Alamuddin launched her Singapore-based accessories brand Totally Tala in 2017, the 47-year-old lawyer showed her support for her younger sister by carrying a clutch from the brand to attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018 wedding in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Most recently, Alamuddin supported Amal when she attended The Albies, an annual black-tie event hosted by George and Amal Clooney to celebrate those who have devoted their lives to fighting for justice. The event was held at the Natural History Museum in London earlier this month. Other guests included Meryl Streep, Meg Ryan and Donatella Versace.

She is a fashion designer

Alamuddin was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1980, to parents Ramzi and Baria Alamuddin. The same year that she was born, the family moved to Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire.

She went on to attend Richmond, The American International University in London, graduating in 1995. Per Grazia, she worked as an events manager in New York before launching Totally Tala. The brand has collaborated with, or been featured in, magazines such as Vogue China, Harper’s Bazaar China, Elle and more.
