Audrey Nuna is making headlines as one of the performers – alongside Ejae and Rei Ami – on the viral hit “Golden”, the lead single from the original soundtrack of Netflix’s hit animated feature KPop Demon Hunters. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 on August 12.

KPop Demon Hunters tells the story of a popular K-pop girl group called Huntr/x, who secretly serve as demon hunters protecting the world from a demon king and his demon boy band, Saja Boys. Nuna voiced the character Mira from Huntr/x and performed several other songs from the film’s soundtrack, including “How It’s Done”, “Takedown” and “What It Sounds Like”.
Recognised for her unique blend of pop, R&B, rap and experimental trap, Nuna is captivating fans worldwide on her Trench tour, where she’s performing songs from her critically acclaimed second album released in late 2024. The global tour is taking her to across continents this year, including Asia and Australia.
Here is everything you need to know about this rising star.
She’s a Korean-American musician

Nuna, 26, was born in New Jersey to Korean immigrant parents. She began making music as a teenager and had an Instagram page where she uploaded videos of herself in the bathtub playing keyboard and doing covers of artists like Childish Gambino or rewriting Drake’s verses. Those videos caught the eye of producer Anwar Sawyer, who was signed to Roc Nation and became her manager.
While enrolled at the renowned Clive Davis Institute at New York University, Nuna balanced her studies with late-night studio sessions at Sawyer’s place, often taking early morning buses back to campus to get some sleep before class. Ultimately, she decided to drop out and fully focus on her music, independently releasing tracks such as “80 deg, Honeypot” in 2018 to launch her career.
She’s a rapper who has released two albums

Nuna signed with Sony’s Arista Records in 2019, releasing several successful singles, beginning with 2020’s “Damn Right” and including “Time, Paper” and the collaboration “Comic Sans” featuring Jack Harlow. In 2021, she released her debut album titled A Liquid Breakfast, which brought her to festivals like Lollapalooza and Head in the Clouds and, in 2023, landed her a spot as the opening act on Ashnikko’s Weedkiller tour. She released her second album Trench, themed on duality, in October 2024.
She’s all about fashion

Nuna’s dad owned a clothing factory while she was growing up, so she was always very interested in fashion, she told Atwood Magazine. Nuna also told Interview Magazine that because she comes from a “DIY background”, she’s pretty much her “entire glam team and styling team”. She elaborated, “I only travel with my TM (tour manager) and my DJ. it would be nice to have someone help out, but it’s definitely been doable.”
Nuna also prioritises the visuals of her music videos. For example, she co-directed her music video for “Space” in her first album, creating an “ethereal aesthetic”. She’s also described her personal style as “futuristic grandparent elderly pre-professional skate wear”.
She’s also a fashion darling

Nuna has made impressive strides in the fashion world, both on and off the runway. In February, she attended Coach’s show during New York Fashion Week and was also featured among the star-studded line-up at Tommy Bogo’s spring/summer 2025 runway show. She’s also endorsed Chanel fine jewellery, Burberry and Tumi.
In 2020, Nuna teamed up with genderless sustainable brand Bobblehaus to create a bold collection titled Nunahaus, which included included a half-zip nylon track jacket, cargo pants and a graphic cotton tee.

Beyond physical fashion, Audrey’s visionary approach extends into the digital realm. Partnering with cutting-edge digital fashion platform Syky, she launched Glamour as Armor – a striking digital collection featuring metallic textures and sharp, futuristic pieces. These digital designs were prominently showcased in the cover art for her 2024 single “Jokes on Me”.
