Patrick Brammall, 49, has been cast as Anne Hathaway’s new love interest in the highly anticipated film, The Devil Wears Prada 2, replacing Adrian Grenier’s character from the original 2006 film. On August 5, Brammall was spotted filming an intimate and romantic scene with 42-year-old Anne Hathaway on the streets of Brooklyn, New York.

Hathaway, who is reprising her role as Andrea “Andy” Sachs, was seen wearing a shimmering blue dress, while Bramall was in a tailored navy suit with a light blue shirt.

In the original film that premiered two decades ago, Andy and her boyfriend Nate (played by Grenier) go through a rocky relationship, not helped by her stressful job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly, an intense fashion magazine editor portrayed by Meryl Streep.

Reports note that Grenier will not be returning for the sequel. Brammall joins an A-list cast that includes OG members Hathaway, Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and newcomers Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux and Helen J. Shen.

Brammall has been in the industry for some time now.

He started his career with the TV movie The Alice in 2004, followed by its spin-off series. Later, he gained widespread recognition for his roles in various Australian TV series and films, including playing Gordon in the comedy series Colin from Accounts, Sergeant James Hayes in Glitch, Leo Taylor in Offspring, and Andy Bouchard in the American supernatural drama series, Evil. He will also star in the upcoming Apple TV series, The Dispatcher.

In 2013, Brammall won the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Award for Best Performance in a Television Comedy for his starring role as Sean Moody in the ABC comedy series, A Moody Christmas. Brammall won the prize a second time in 2016 for his role in No Activity.
