Meryl Streep and her husband Don Gummer have separated after 40 years of marriage.
A representative for Streep confirmed on Sunday that the three-time Oscar winner has been separated from her husband Gummer for more than six years.
Streep and Gummer met and wed in the same year, 1978. Their wedding was held six months after Streep’s previous partner John Cazale died after a battle with lung cancer.
Streep moved into the sculptor’s home in 1978 after their marriage and the couple had four children together: Henry Wolfe Gummer, Mary Willa “Mamie” Gummer, Grace Jane Gummer and Louisa Jacobson Gummer. All four siblings performed together for the first time in a play called Three Sisters for the 2023 Williamstown Theatre Festival.
Here’s what to know about Streep and Gummer’s four children.
1. Henry Wolfe Gummer
Henry Wolfe Gummer was born on November 13, 1979 in New York – a year after Streep and Don’s wedding
While all of Streep’s children are in the entertainment industry, Henry is the only one to become a musician. He also has the lowest profile among the former couple’s kids.
Henry started out his music career in a retro-pop band he created with a university friend called Bravo Silva. After one album, he decided to go solo.
