Parisian Macao celebrates opening with fireworks and gala dinner

HAPPENINGS: The skies over Macau were illuminated with a dazzling fireworks display and light show at the grand opening of the US$2.7 billion Parisian Macao. For developer Sands China, the French-themed resort is said to be the crown jewel of the Cotai Strip and completes its series of properties in the gambling enclave which started with the Venetian Macao in 2007.

Chairman of Sands China, Sheldon Adelson, was joined by a host of celebrities and distinguished guests on a temporary stage erected under the resort’s half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower, which is now a prominent feature of the Macao skyline. Entertainment included an exciting performance by Belgian singer Lara
Fabian who belted out her hit song Je T’aime before a captivated audience.

Celebrations continued during the post-opening gala dinner where guests were entertained by leading Hong Kong actress and pop star Karen Mok.
