Oscars 2021 best and worst dressed: Brad Pitt and Zendaya killed it, but Halle Berry should have rethought her red carpet wardrobe

- Brad Pitt donned a classic look to present Youn Yuh-jung’s Academy Award for Minari, while The Crown’s Olivia Colman looked like IRL royalty in a red Dior dress
- Laura Dern’s fluffy Oscar de la Renta look sparked heated debate on social media, with some comparing it to Björk’s infamous swan dress, but we dug it, thanks
Despite being held far later in the season that any normal year, the 93rd Academy Awards lit up Los Angeles this past weekend – especially because the star-studded event was actually held in person.
Postponed from its original February 28 date to April 25, US time, this edition of the Oscars was, of course, unlike any in history, with many nominees and presenters logging in virtually from their homes.
But those that did make it to the socially distanced red carpet still offered an A-list spark, with dazzling couture gowns from Chanel, Dior, Valentino and more.
Zendaya offered a splash of vibrant colour with her striking yellow gown, while the men this year really shone, led by Brad Pitt in an iconic monochrome look, plus Leslie Odom Jr. in a 24k gold-accented Brioni suit and Colman Domingo showing just how good men can look in pink.
The misses

Nominated for best actress, American star Andra Day totally missed the mark for one of the most important occasions of her career. While her lustrous Vera Wang design sure stood out in the crowd, the high-slit, all-too-revealing dress just did not fit the heavyweight occasion.
