Meet Nguyen Trung Tin – the Dreamplex founder married to former Miss Vietnam Dang Thu Thao, heading up the Trung Thuy Group family fortune

Even before his well-publicised relationship and subsequent marriage to Dang Thu Thao, the popular and well-loved Miss Vietnam 2012, Nguyen Trung Tin had earned a reputation as a rising entrepreneur and member of one of the richest families in Vietnam. Following the launch of his own start-ups, the young heir also known as Tin Nguyen became CEO at his family’s conglomerate, launching various lucrative real estate projects.
Born in 1987, Nguyen grew up in comfort and luxury. His mother Duong Thu Thuy is a powerful businesswoman who created Trung Thuy Group, a multimillion dollar conglomerate encompassing high-end real estate investment and management, spa and beauty services, accommodation and F&B. Starting as a small family-business owner, Duong Thu Thuy went on to earn global recognition with her Miss Ao Dai brand, bringing Vietnam's charming traditional national garment, áo dài, to the world.
Nguyen earned a Master’s degree in commerce with distinction from the prestigious University of Melbourne in Australia, before moving back to Vietnam. Starting up with 10 billion dong (US$430,000) borrowed from his mother, Tin Nguyen opened his first company, Sin Ultra Lounge – one of the first five-star nightclubs and bars in Ho Chi Minh City. Following its success, Nguyen established several more companies including Ace Night Club, Mama Restaurant and Hush Creative.
After being appointed as CEO of the Trung Thuy Group in 2015 at the age of 28, Nguyen created Dreamplex, the leading co-working space in Ho Chi Minh City where entrepreneurial, tech-savvy young people can meet and collaborate on projects. Dreamplex was where President Obama gave his motivational speech to nearly 300 young people during his historic visit to Vietnam in May 2016. With the phenomenal success of Dreamplex, Nguyen was named one of the 30 most influential people under 30 years old in Vietnam by Forbes in 2015.
Despite his impressive career, Tin Nguyen only attracted extensive media attention in Vietnam after announcing his relationship with Dang Thu Thao. As a high-profile celebrity, she is adored by the local media for her beauty, elegant fashion style and community service. She is often spotted at high-end fashion and community events and was known to own an enviable collection of designer items. Their wedding ceremony and lavish reception made headlines for weeks, and Nguyen was reported to have picked up his bride in a fleet of luxury cars.
After the marriage, Dang Thu Thao withdrew from business and gave birth to their two children while Nguyen devoted himself to the family business. He has just completed the Lancaster Eden Complex Project featuring 12 masterpiece villas, a project that showcased his own vision and marked a spectacular new era with Trung Thuy Group.
