Delvaux’s latest Miniatures celebrate Best of British with Belgian wit
Belgian fine leather goods maison’s ‘Les Miniatures So British’ bags reflect the mood and colour of four famous London locations with witty takes on the city’s love of tradition and edgy fashion
Many England soccer fans were “gutted” by their World Cup semi-final defeat by Croatia. So Belgian fine leather goods maison Delvaux’s latest Miniature collection could cheer them up. Its latest mini-bag designs look sophisticated – and pay homage to British culture.
Delvaux celebrates the July 11 opening of its two new boutiques in London’s Bond Street and Sloane Street with the addition of four “Les Miniatures So British” products to the maison’s traditional “Miniature” line. All the new items are in the shape of its classic handbag, Le Brilliant.
The collection’s new products are named “Trafalgar Square”, “Piccadilly Circus”, “Camden Town” and “Buckingham Palace” – and all bring a British vibe to the Belgian brand, carrying the names and features of four of London’s most popular locations.
The leather house invited creative photographer Tim Walker and set designer Simon Costin to portray its latest bags’ charms with a surrealistic visual story laced with punk and royal attitudes.
This funky but elegant range is worth a look when you are next in London. You can also order the “Miniatures So British” bags at the maison’s Hong Kong and Kowloon stores, the brand revealed to Style. Local prices begin at HK$9,100 to HK$10,800 for the “Buckingham Palace”, a brand spokesman adds.
