‘The Beast’ gets a colourful 2026 refresh, featuring 3 distinct trios that range from high-octane chronographs to serious divers

Few watches have challenged the conventions of high watchmaking quite as boldly as the Royal Oak Offshore. Designed by Emmanuel Gueit and inspired by the world of high-performance offshore racing, it has oversized proportions, an exposed rubber gasket and an unapologetically muscular design that earned it the nickname “The Beast”. More than three decades later, that rebellious energy remains at the heart of the collection – only now it comes dressed for a new generation.

For 2026, the Royal Oak Offshore gets a particularly colourful update in the form of three distinct trios: 37mm Selfwinding Chronographs, 42mm Selfwinding Chronographs and 42mm Royal Oak Offshore Divers. Together, the new models demonstrate just how broadly the Offshore aesthetic can stretch, from high-octane chronograph functionality to serious underwater capability.

The 37mm Selfwinding Chronograph takes the collection into more compact, contemporary territory. Its new Calibre 6401 is thinner than its predecessor and, for the first time in this Offshore line, visible through the sapphire caseback. Developed over five years, the integrated column-wheel chronograph offers a 55-hour power reserve and brings a sophisticated mechanical dimension to a watch designed for everyday wear.

Visually, these watches are anything but restrained. Turquoise and pink appear across titanium versions, while a pink gold model pairs pale blue with a diamond-set bezel. Smaller proportions and a lighter construction give this Offshore a different kind of presence – still bold, but more agile.

The 42mm Selfwinding Chronographs return to the larger, more imposing proportions that have long defined the Offshore. Here, colour becomes almost kinetic: pink, turquoise, yellow and orange accents animate Méga Tapisserie dials, tachymeter scales and chronograph counters. Beneath the dial, the Calibre 4404 brings flyback chronograph functionality, a column wheel and a 70-hour power reserve, while the movement’s components can be admired through the sapphire caseback.
