From Chanel to Ralph Lauren, maximalism is back as fashionistas don extra necklaces, armfuls of bracelets and rings on every finger

Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel might have suggested looking in the mirror and taking one item off, but right now, especially when it comes to jewellery, the adage seems to be that more is more.
Michael Rider’s debut for Celine in July truly set the mood with layers of chunky gold talismanic charm necklaces and bracelets, and rings on every finger. The shift towards jewellery maximalism could also be found in the statement pendants at the likes of Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch; the stacks of sculptural bangles at Chanel and Lanvin; and the strands and strands of beads at Givenchy. Chandelier earrings, meanwhile, have made a triumphant comeback, spied at the likes of Saint Laurent and Chanel.
