Highland Park’s new 50-year old single malt Scotch whisky Orkney-based distillery Highland Park is unveiling a new 50-year-old single malt Scotch whisky created by Gordon Motion. Only 274 bottles have been crafted, each signed by the master brewer. The Scotch has been developed using the traditional solera method, most often associated with maturing sherry. The new edition’s nine refill casks were originally laid down in 1968, and finally re-racked in first-fill sherry seasoned oak casks to give layered and complex flavours.
