Happenings: Upholding the objective of building Macau into Asia’s top luxury travel and shopping destination, Sands Resorts Macao hosted the second Macao Fashion Week in October. The week of events started with a gala dinner at The Venetian Macao on October 17.
Why did Elie Saab feature Chinese-inspired designs at Paris Fashion Week?

Partnering with French house Balmain, Sands brought several couture pieces from Paris for a dazzling runway show, preceded by a glamorous dance performance. Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing greeted the audience through a video from France.

Chinese singer Jane Zhang, dressed in a black Balmain gown, performed at the cocktail party before guests were seated. Taiwanese actor and singer Jiro Wang Dong-cheng, who attended the inaugural Fashion Week, returned to Macau for the occasion. Meanwhile, Mu Ziyang, Ling Chao, Yue Yue from Chinese boy band ONER posed for pictures under The Venetian Macao’s grand dome.
A water runway show followed featuring Auralo Arte’s 2020 spring/summer ready-to-wear collection by Macanese design duo ALo Lo and Rainie Choi.
