Ring in the New Year celebrations at popular Italian hang-out 208 Duecento Otto, which has just been refurbished and has added lots of exciting new menu items. The festive à la carte menu includes traditional dishes like pan-fried Japanese scallop in lentil soup with chestnut foam and crunchy celery (HK$208; US$27). In Italy, this is traditionally consumed as a “lucky” dish to ensure good fortune in the New Year. Other highlights include cappelletti pasta cooked in chicken broth with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and black truffle (HK$198); linguine with clams, prawn and parsley (HK$258), and pan-fried squid and herbs sauce (HK$378).

Alto
Spend the final hours of 2020 with good food and a spectacular city view at Alto. The six-course dinner features smoked salmon with roe and crème fraîche; crispy duck leg with chicory, glazed peaches and sweet pecan dressing; Hokkaido scallops in white wine butter sauce and caviar; Steak Diane with chive mash, and half lobster with smoked shiso butter. Dessert includes a chocolate tart with passion fruit and coconut sorbet. Alto has two seatings, the first at 6pm, with the second at 8.30pm. (HK$788 per person.)

See in the New Year at Aqua atop One Peking in Tsim Sha Tsui with a four-course Italian-Japanese menu. Choices include otoro tuna, shima aji and botan ebi sashimi; king crab and tobiko gunkan sushi; seared scallop oshi sushi with Oscietra caviar and oysters with Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, NV. Enjoy lobster and caviar tagliolini with a glass of Bibi Graetz Bugia. Choose either New Zealand lamb or stone-grilled Kobe beef with G.D. Vajra, Barolo Albe, Italy.
