Meghan Markle, Prince Charles, Queen Rania of Jordan – royals who have written books, from cooking and children’s literature to philosophy and etiquette

Behind palace doors, these royals were able to find the time to pour their creativity onto the page. Here are six who have added “published author” to their resume and list of achievements.
Prince Charles – Climate Change
An established author, Prince Charles has written various books including A Vision of Britain: A Personal View of Architecture (1989) and a children’s book The Old Man of Lochnagar (1989).
But his recent project, Climate Change (2017), co-authored with environmentalist Tony Juniper and climate scientist Emily Shuckburgh, has affirmed his passion for the environment, identifying challenges and presenting solutions to climate change.
Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan – The Sandwich Swap
Queen Rania visited the United Nations Headquarters in 2010 to launch The Sandwich Swap, a children’s book that highlights cross-cultural understanding.
Based on her childhood experience, the book tells the story of two girls who share and do everything together – except swap their lunch.
