Exo’s Suho released his first solo album, “Self-Portrait” in March – a fan farewell before enlisting in South Korea’s military on May 14 as a public service officer.
He was just in time – all able males must serve in the South Korean army between 18 and 28, and on May 22, Suho turns 29. Here are five more things to know about the K-pop idol.
He spent six years as a trainee
Before his Exo debut, Suho spent six years as a trainee at SM Entertainment. He joined the company in 2005 and felt depressed when he didn’t debut with Jonghyun and Taemin. He told Soompi, “I felt lonely being left alone as the only trainee [who entered at the same time].”
He looks out for his band mates
As the group’s leader, he is always looks out for Exo’s other members. During the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), the group didn’t have enough space on the couch so Suho gave up his seat and sat on the floor.
In TV documentary EXO’s Showtime, Suho nonchalantly gave his credit card to the hungry Kyungsoo.
