Style Edit: Zendaya fronts Louis Vuitton’s Cherry Blossom collab with Takashi Murakami – the second half of a re-edition, 20 years on from the house’s original tie-up with the Japanese artist

Cheerful flowers are applied to OnTheGo, Papillon, Boulogne and Speedy 25 city bags, and Art of Travel luggage and trunks, while Alma BB and Capucines bags are given an all-over rose colour
Twenty years ago, Louis Vuitton made history when it collaborated with renowned Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami to create a series of playful and covetable leather goods and accessories for women. The collection, which re-envisaged the house’s classic monogram in a series of vibrant colours, was cemented in pop culture, and marked the beginning of an enduring relationship between the worlds of art and luxury fashion.

Murakami’s cheerful pink flower heads and graceful petals are applied to each item using cutting-edge digital printing techniques. The Cherry Blossom blooms as the central motif on must-have styles including OnTheGo, Papillon, Boulogne and Speedy 25 city bags. It also blossoms to life on a range of Art of Travel luggage and hard-sided trunks featuring Cherry Blossom patches. Elsewhere, favourites such as Alma BB and Capucines city bags are given an all-over, rose-coloured rendering, tinting their surfaces in the vibrant, cheeky pink of the flower that inspired them.
