After three crazy seasons that saw obsessed fans flip-flopping between supporting either of the two male leads, and starting meme wars over its love triangle, Amazon Prime’s beloved The Summer I Turned Pretty has finally come to an end, with the finale airing on September 17.

The show, adapted from Jenny Han’s novel trilogy of the same name, follows Isabel “Belly” Conklin and her messy love triangle with brothers Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. Those of us who watched the finale will know whether she decided on one brother in the end – or chose to jet off to Mexico with her love interest in Paris, Benito.

The biggest twist in the show though had to be Belly’s new style, including her stunning new long bob that was revealed in the series finale. Although we didn’t get to enjoy much of Parisian Belly and her bold red lip, the fashion this season has received a pleasant upgrade in tune with Belly maturing as a character – just look at the black minidress by Jacquemus she wore for her birthday bash.

But before Belly’s glow-up, one of the most talked about style moments in the show was, without a doubt, her tiny engagement ring. Here’s everything you need to know about the woman who made this happen – the show’s stylist Carol Lim.

The engagement ring in TSITP

Earlier this season, Belly and Jeremiah got engaged, but the “romantic” moment instantly became an online meme after fans reacted to the minuscule engagement ring. Belly’s best friend Taylor perhaps described it best: “Is it a diamond or a sliver of tinfoil?”

The engagement ring was actually designed by jewellery brand Catbird in partnership with The Summer I Turned Pretty. The collaboration features an entire jewellery collection designed by Lim. It reportedly came about after Lim messaged Catbird’s chief creative officer Leigh Plessner to propose a partnership, as per Adweek.
