Met Gala 2025: celebrities from Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter, to Sydney Sweeney and Blackpink’s Lisa and Jennie graced the red carpet in looks celebrating Black men’s style and tailoring

This year’s theme, ‘Tailored for You’, is a nod to the exhibition ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’, opening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute on May 10
Domingo wore a full-length royal blue pleated cloak falling from a gold and white casing around his shoulders, which he removed to reveal a bejewelled, checkered black and white jacket and grey trousers. Hamilton chose an all-white suit with a beret.
Black and white looks populated the daffodil-accented, deep blue carpet covering the steps to the museum door. Guests arrived with assistants sheltering them under umbrellas in the heavy rain.

The Met Gala, a fundraiser for the art museum, has become known for its roster of A-list celebrities in extravagant outfits. This year’s guests were told to dress according to the theme “Tailored for You”, a nod to the exhibit called “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” at the museum’s Costume Institute.
Here are highlights from the event.
