Ali Wong mesmerised in a custom red Balenciaga gown at this year’s Golden Globes – all the more so given the 42-year-old was among the night’s winners.

In Beverly Hills on January 5, she scooped the award for performance in stand-up comedy on television for her show, Single Lady. That came a year on from her claiming her first Golden Globe, for her lead role in Netflix’s series Beef opposite Steven Yeun, a show that also saw her win two Emmys.

For her big night, Wong complemented her fiery ensemble – a bustier dress from the maison’s haute couture collection – with a pair of black opera gloves and, of course, her signature wide-rim frames.

According to a post shared by E! News correspondent Zanna Roberts Rassi, the star’s ruffled embellishments had to be individually curled using a curling iron before she was ready to walk the red carpet.
