LV logos and motifs on bags and other leather goods are once again given the Murakami treatment

You know a collection is big news when it’s seen as one of the fashion events of the year yet is actually a revision of an earlier collection. Such is the fuss around the first chapter of the Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami re-edition.

Back in 2003, the quirky Japanese artist added playful splashes of colour to the French maison’s storied codes, ornamenting its bags and leather goods with a hint of cutesy anime aesthetic.

Two decades on, the original pieces have proven timeless and so now the collaboration has been refreshed, leaning on the love and sprinkling more Murakami magic to attract a fresh cohort of the youthful and brand-savvy.
