Jensen Huang may be one of the richest men in the world, but he is also reportedly among the biggest tax dodgers in the US, according to The New York Times.

He is reportedly the beneficiary of a series of tax dodges that would allow him to pass on much of his fortune tax-free – with the savings for his family thought to amount to about US$8 billion.

Lori Huang has been by Jensen’s side for years. According to The Seattle Times, the couple began taking steps to shield their fortune from estate tax as far back as 2012. Jensen has a net worth of US$102.7 billion, notes Forbes.
Here’s what we know about Lori – and the story of how she met her billionaire beau:
Lori Huang’s background

According to Britannica, Lori is a former engineering student who attended Oregon State University. Not much else is known about her background.
What does Lori Huang do for work?

Her husband may be the high-profile CEO of Nvidia, but Lori remains much more low-key. According to Britannica, she and her husband co-founded the philanthropic Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang Foundation, which makes donations to various public health initiatives.
How did Lori Huang meet Jensen Huang?

The Huangs met while they were both studying engineering at Oregon State University. Per the New York Post, they had partnered together for lab work; he was 17 years old at the time and she was 19, per Business Insider.
“I was the youngest kid in school, in class. There were 250 students and 3 girls,” he said in an interview at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology last year. “I walked up to her and I said, ‘do you want to see my homework?’” He added: “If you do homework with me every Sunday, I promise you, you will get straight As.”
He went on to say that they had a date every Sunday. He also said that he told her he would be a CEO by the time he turned 30. According to his bio on OSU College of Engineering, they tied the knot about five years after they met. Lori wasn’t the only thing he “fell in love” with during his studies though.
“I enjoyed computers growing up, but OSU opened up my eyes to the magic behind them,” he said, per the OSU website. “This is where I really fell in love with technology, thanks to a few great professors and some classes that set my mind on fire. Everything I have learned over the past decades is built on the strong foundation I gained here.”
Are Lori Huang and Jensen Huang charitable people?

The Huangs have given back to the community in various ways. According to the Business Times, the couple gave away about US$60 million in 2023 and US$66 million in 2022. Most of this went to a charitable fund run by the duo, while US$10 million was donated to Oregon State University. The same article notes that US$900,000 went to the American Friends of Magen David Adom.
“The Huang Foundation supports higher education, public health and [science, technology, engineering, and mathematics] initiatives across the US, alongside local community organisations in the San Francisco Bay area,” a spokesperson for the Huangs shared in a statement. “By taking a long-term approach, the foundation ensures that its resources will continue to support critical causes well into the future, maximising its charitable impact over time.”
Do Lori Huang and Jensen Huang have any children?

The couple are proud parents to two children. According to Business Insider, their daughter Madison is a director of marketing at Nvidia, while Spencer is a senior product manager at the company. Jensen has credited his wife and children for his signature black leather jacket style. “I’m happy that my wife and my daughter dresses me,” he told HP’s online show, The Moment.
