From Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway to Stanley Tucci and Gisele Bündchen, these are 7 of the richest alumni of The Devil Wears Prada, adapted by Elton John into a West End musical

When The Devil Wears Prada hit cinemas in 2006, it became an instant classic. Based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger, the film follows fresh graduate Andy Sachs as she lands a job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly, the demanding editor-in-chief of a glossy fashion magazine.

Starring the likes of heavyweight actress Meryl Streep and newcomers Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt, the film is widely believed to have been inspired by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour; Wintour even attended the film’s premiere wearing Prada.

Since then, rumours of a sequel have done the rounds every so often. And in July last year, Vanity Fair reported that a follow-up film was in the works.

In the meantime, fortunately for fans, the story has since been adapted into a stage production. The Devil Wears Prada musical, featuring Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly, with music by Elton John, made its West End debut last October at London’s Dominion Theatre.

Of course, a lot has happened to the lives and careers of the original cast in the 19 years since the film’s release – and to their bank balances. Here’s how the stars of The Devil Wears Prada compare when it comes to their funds, according to Celebrity Net Worth at the time of writing.

Best known for playing Vincent Chase in popular TV series Entourage, Adrian Grenier landed the role of Nate Cooper, Andy’s boyfriend, in The Devil Wears Prada. Since then, he has moved out of the limelight to focus on green initiatives, including co-founding DuContra Ventures, a venture capital firm that puts community and protecting the planet over profit.

6. Stanley Tucci, 64

Estimated net worth: US$25 million

Following an extensive career in film and television that’s seen him bag six Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, actor Stanley Tucci has earned himself an impressive fortune of US$25 million. However, it was his role as Nigel Kipling, Miranda Priestly’s loyal confidant in The Devil Wears Prada, that turned Tucci into a household name.
