Meet Aisha Bowe, the ex-Nasa rocket scientist on Blue Origin’s historic, all-female space flight with Katy Perry, Lauren Sánchez and Gayle King: the Bahamian-American is the founder of STEMBoard

Aisha Bowe’s school adviser told her she should consider a career in cosmetology; instead, she became an aerospace engineer, STEM advocate and tech entrepreneur
While you may be familiar with many of these names, you may not know much about Bowe, who’s been busy making an entrepreneurial impact in the world of data science, AI, and space operations.
In a recent interview with Elle, she said she feels like she’s been training for this moment her entire life. “I wanted to go to space, but I didn’t think it was possible,” she shared. “I was afraid to do it. I was afraid to even dream about it. And I started to say to myself, You know what, Aisha? Why are you afraid of the one thing that you’ve waited your entire life to do? Just go do it.”
When she got the call, she says she realised that “now is the time”.
Bowe, who’s in her late 30s, is set to make history as the first person of Bahamian heritage to travel to space, per CBS News. The six women will depart on Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission on April 14.
The entire trip will last about 11 minutes, according to Elle. Once the rocket reaches space, the ladies will be able to experience weightlessness and look down on Earth from above.

Here’s what we know about Aisha Bowe.
