Colin Farrell may be a critically acclaimed actor in Hollywood, but outside of work, he’s a doting dad to his two sons.

After winning the title of Best Male Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series at the 2025 Golden Globes for his role in The Penguin, the 48-year-old talked backstage to People magazine about how he continues to put his children first. “I don’t know if I feel pride to be honest with you, which is not to say I’m not a prideful person. I do feel pride in my life,” he said. “I feel very proud of my kids and who they are as men and watching them navigate the world.”

Colin Farrell’s first child, James Padraig Farrell, was born on September 12, 2003.

He shares James with his ex-girlfriend, American model Kim Bordenave. “I adore [James] and I will always be in his life forever,” Colin told the Irish Examiner in 2004. “He’ll always know who his dad is. Fatherhood for me is the ultimate success.”
