President Donald Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz has taken “full responsibility” for inadvertently adding a journalist from The Atlantic to a Signal group chat discussing war plans in Yemen.
“I take full responsibility. I built the group,” Waltz told Fox News last week. He said he wasn’t sure how The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg came to be on the chat, but said that “we’ve got the best technical minds looking at how this happened”.

Trump said that he is still confident in Waltz’s abilities, telling NBC News that he “has learned a lesson and is a good man”.
