Jeremy Renner and Jessica Simpson may be reigniting an old flame.

More than a decade and a half after they were first linked romantically, the Hollywood stars have sparked rumours of a fling once more. Fans have noticed they have been flirting on Instagram recently, as noted by E! Online. A newly single Simpson – who split from her husband of 10 years, Eric Johnson, this year, per People – left a fire emoji under a shirtless workout video Renner posted. That was followed by The Hurt Locker actor’s congratulating her on her album Nashville Canyon, Part 1. Days later, the Hawkeye star shared a video of him exercising with his mother, Valerie Cearley, under which Simpson commented, “I love this oh me … Mama is strong … I need to go do sit-ups now.”

Renner’s mother also came up when he was first connected to Simpson in 2010. Per People, “Jeremy spent the night hitting on Jessica like crazy” at a party, she said. But Renner clarified to Us Weekly that they had spoken for “three minutes” – because she and his mother shared the same hairstylist.

Meanwhile, both actors have built families of their own. Simpson shares Maxwell, Ace and Birdie with Johnson; Renner has a daughter, Ava Berlin, with Sonni Pacheco. So what do we know about Renner’s ex-wife?

Pacheco, 37, a native of Pitt Meadows, Canada, per Parade, briefly worked as an actress. You might recognise her from the 2012 comedy The Wingman. She also had a small part in American Hustle (2013), in which Renner played a supporting role.

Pacheco and Renner, 54, first crossed paths on the set of the 2011 movie Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, per the Daily Mail. By 2013 they had welcomed Ava and in 2014 they tied the knot. Before their first wedding anniversary, Pacheco filed for divorce, accusing The Avengers star of emotional abuse, drug use, putting a gun in his mouth, shooting it inside the house while their daughter was present, biting the child, stealing Pacheco’s identification documents, talking about killing her and more, per TMZ and People. He denied the allegations and agreed to give spousal support and share custody of Ava.
