According to his profile on Biography.com, Chris and his three siblings – Carly, Scott and Shanna – were born to Robert and Lisa Evans. Father Robert worked as a dentist, while mum Lisa took a more creative route as a dancer and then theatre director. “We were like the von Trapps [from The Sound of Music] – all singing and dancing,” Chris once shared. Robert and Lisa divorced in 1999, according to People magazine.

Their sister Carly reportedly began taking classes at the Concord Youth Theatre, Massachusetts and the rest of the Evanses followed suit. “We’d come to see Carly’s shows,” mother Lisa told Esquire in 2020. “And the boys would say, ‘Wait a minute, we sit in the audience, and she gets to sing, she gets to dance, she gets to do all this stuff, and then afterward she gets candy and flowers and we take her out to dinner. We want to do this!’”
