Selena Gomez has remained close with Theresa Mingus, even collaborating with her on an exclusive line for her swimwear brand, La’Mariette

Selena Gomez’s former assistant and long-time friend Theresa Mingus gave fans a glimpse of the prom-themed birthday party Gomez threw for her fiancé Benny Blanco’s birthday on March 8. The newly engaged couple’s first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, is set to be released on March 21.

The snaps showed Gomez in a pink strapless Oscar de la Renta dress posing alongside Mingus and dancer Anna Collins.

Gomez and Mingus have had a tight-knit relationship ever since the latter began working as an executive assistant for Gomez in May 2014. Over a decade later, Mingus has moved on to become the founder of her own clothing brand, but the two remain best friends.

In 2019, Gomez penned a heartfelt post on Instagram for Mingus: “I met Theresa 5 years ago. We worked together and became best friends.” The Only Murders In The Building star went on: “She is beautiful, kind and smart. I saw how capable she was of achieving her dreams.”

Before working for Selena Gomez, Mingus was hired as an assistant for Kim Kardashian. The pair worked together for a little over two years and, according to her LinkedIn profile, Mingus helped Kardashian manage her home, events and even her wardrobe.

Mingus has also previously worked as a PA for Robin Antin, the creator of the Pussycat Dolls.
