Williams had dinner with her niece a day after she dropped a note with a plea for help on it from the window of her assisted living facility; her younger brother also insists she’s ‘in great shape’

Earlier this week, Wendy Williams shocked fans when she dropped a note from the window of her New York assisted living facility asking the paparazzi for help. She has been living at the facility since she was diagnosed with dementia in 2023.

The former talk show host, who was placed under a court-ordered guardianship in 2022, has previously referred to the facility, Coterie, as a “prison” and denied being “cognitively impaired” during an appearance on The Breakfast Club radio show in January.

Soon after Williams dropped the note that read “Help! Wendy!!”, police arrived to perform a wellness check and the Emmy-winning host was escorted to a nearby hospital where she received a psychiatric evaluation, which she reportedly passed with “flying colours”.

The next day, Wendy was spotted enjoying dinner at Max Tucci’s restaurant in NoHo with her niece Alex Finnie in New York City. Finnie has since been accused by Coterie of “kidnapping” Williams and police reports claimed Finnie “evaded staff by taking Wendy out of the building”, per TMZ.

Calling into Fox’s Good Day New York on March 11, Williams revealed that the most important thing for her was to end her guardianship. “In terms of getting out of guardianship, that is my number one, number one most important thing,” Williams said.

Williams’ brother, Tommy Williams, has also spoken on behalf of his sister, telling Us Weekly that she was “in great shape mentally and physically” and to “let her out”.
