Niemann first went viral on TikTok after videos of the then 15-year-old impersonating Grande garnered attention from fans. Niemann had uploaded several videos where she mimics Grande’s look, as well as the mannerisms of Grande’s Victorious character Cat Valentine.
The real Ari even responded to one of Niemann’s Cat impersonation videos, tweeting, “I just wonder whyyyy the cat voice / dialogue. I am sure she is the sweetest sweet sweetheart for real!! But it’s definitely bizarre seeing people blend the two worlds lmao.”
Niemann’s similarities to Grande are the result of both coincidence and hard work. Like Grande, Niemann is half-Sicilian. But she’s been capitalising on the natural resemblance since she was 12, spending hours on perfecting her hair and make-up before posting selfies and videos dressed as Grande.
